Requirements

  •     9 credits of analytical (265, 361, 362); 
  •     6 credits inorganic (245, 341); 
  •     12 credits of organic (221, 222, 6 credits from 421, 422, 445); 
  •     6 credits of physical (231, 232); 
  •     12 credits biochemistry (255, 355, 452, 455); 
  •     3 credits of chemistry electives
  •    Honours Thesis Research (490, 6 credits)

Total of 60 credits, plus the non-credit seminar courses 391 (junior year) and 491 (senior year).

Honours students are also required to take, in their junior year, Organic Structural Methods (325) as an Approved Elective, and to attend all department seminars during their junior and senior years. Because it is an intro-level course, it is recommended that students intending to do the Honours degree, Biochemistry Concentration take PHYS 101, 102 or PHYS 121, 122 during their first year of study.
