A Home for Health Innovation

Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Hall (VPDH) at St. Francis Xavier University will be a catalyst for advancing healthcare in Nova Scotia. Designed to empower researchers, faculty, and students, it will provide the environment and resources needed to tackle 21st-century health challenges – particularly in rural and underrepresented communities.

On July 5, StFX officially broke ground on this transformative facility, which will house the Victor and Mona Dahdaleh Institute for Innovation in Health. More than just a building, the Institute will serve as a dynamic incubator for healthcare research, driving innovation in patient care, policy, and education.

Construction story

Nova Scotia’s construction boom presents both challenges and opportunities. To keep the VPDH project on track, our team is taking a proactive approach securing key resources early, coordinating strategically, and streamlining the building process.

By mobilizing a nearby drilling rig, we avoided geotechnical delays, and early engagement with local trades has helped secure skilled workers ahead of competing projects. Our team is also leveraging early tender packages to navigate high demand for materials and labor.

Thanks to collaboration and adaptability, VPDH remains on schedule, ensuring this world-class facility becomes a reality.
