Requirements

  • 6 credits of introductory (101/102 or 121/122); 
  • 9 credits of analytical (265, 361, 362); 
  • 9 credits inorganic (245, 341, 342); 
  • 12 credits of organic (221, 222, 421, 422); 
  • 12 credits of physical (231, 232, 331, 332); 
  • 3 credits biochemistry (255); 
  • 3 credits of chemistry electives
  • Honours Thesis Research (490, 6 credits) 

Total of 60 credits, plus the non-credit seminar courses 391 (junior year) and 491 (senior year).

Honours students are also required to take, in their junior year, Organic Structural Methods (325) as an Approved Elective, and to attend all department seminars during their junior and senior years.

Year 1: CHEM 101, 102 or 121, 122; MATH 106, 107, or 121, 122, or 126, 127; PHYS 101, 102 or 121, 122; 12 credits of arts electives
Year 2: CHEM 221, 222, 231, 232, 245, 265, 6 credits of math elective; 6 credits of electives 
Year 3: CHEM 255, 325, 341, 342, 361, 362, 391; 6 credits of science electives; 6 credits of electives
