Reporting Hazards and Concerns

REPORT A SAFETY HAZARD OR CONCERN

In the event of a medical or other emergency: Call 911.
After calling 911, call Safety & Security at 902-867-4444 or have someone else call.

Safety & Security can ensure the first responders are dispatched, send personnel who are trained in First Aid, CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and escort the first responders to the scene of the incident.

Give as much information as you can to 911, including your name, telephone number, exact location including civic number and floor/room number, type of emergency and any other factors that could affect the safety of you or others.

Someone should stay with the injured person, if it is safe to do so to await assistance from Safety & Security or Emergency Health Services.

StFX University is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all faculty, staff, students and visitors.  In a constant effort to achieve and maintain this environment, the University Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee asks that you report any hazard or concern to your supervisor. The Manager of Occupational Health and Safety, 212 Service Building, is available to assist employees and management with the resolution of any occupational health and safety concerns.
