Welcome to Modern Languages at StFX!

Learn a second language and immerse yourself in its culture with our dedicated and experienced faculty! Join the Department of Modern Languages to study French, Spanish, German, or Mi’kmaq. We offer language courses at all levels, supported by a state-of-the-art Multimedia Language Lab, and a variety of content courses that explore the rich contexts and cultures where these languages are spoken.

Our students engage with both local and international communities through Service Learning, Immersion Service-Learning projects, foreign film nights, poetry readings, conferences, research projects, and exchange programs in France, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Spain.
