Paying Your Tuition

This page includes important information on paying your tuition, including payment deadlines and payment methods for domestic and international students. Please pay close attention to these details and deadlines. 

Payment Deadlines

General Payment Deadlines

Please note that unless otherwise specified, 65% of all tuition, fees, residence, and meal plan costs are due no later than September 15, 2023. The remaining account balance is due January 15, 2024. Late payment charges of $50 are applied to accounts in September and in January where payment has been delayed. 

Master of Adult Education Students

Please note that the Master in Adult Education program is not eligible for government student loan funding.

Tuition and related Fees in this report are based on the 2023-2024 fee schedule and are subject to change for future academic years.  In the event of a discrepancy between this report and actual charges based on the Full Time and Per Credit Nursing fee schedule, the official fee schedule will prevail.  

Please note this summary does not include residence related fees, printing, health & dental, or other program specific fees.

Student Loan funding payments for this program are generally made in January and August each year

Interest charged at the rate of 1% per month (12% per annum) on overdue balances on the last day of each month.

Methods of Payment

Online Banking

Online Banking with your Financial Institution – set StFX as a bill payee

  • Sign into your online banking and select add a bill or payee
  • Search for StFX or University (selecting StFX)
  • Use your Student ID # as the account number (9 characters)

You are now set up and can make a payment any time you like.  Please note it can take 3 to 5 days for your payment to arrive.

Make A Payment in Person

We would be happy to help you in our office located on the 1st floor of MacKinnon Hall. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm. You can pay with your debit card, cheque/money order/draft or cash. Please note many debit cards have daily limits. We recommend contacting your financial institution to adjust your limit before your visit. Please note we do not accept Credit Cards.

HigherEdPoints.com Program

Students can now fund school fees by converting Aeroplan points through HigherEdPoints.com. 35,000 Aeroplan points can be converted into $250 worth of credits at St. Francis Xavier University.   • Statements from sponsoring agencies should be presented on or before commencement of classes.
  • Fees cannot be deducted from salaries paid to students employed by St. Francis Xavier University.

Step 3: Bank Transfer 

  • Use payment confirmation form to make a payment with your bank.
  • Local bank will transfer funds to Convera Business Solutions and they will send the funds to us.

Step 4: Payment Finalized

  • St. Francis Xavier University will post the Canadian Dollar equivalent to your student account.
