X-Chem Outreach Positions

Every year, X-Chem Outreach employs 8-12 undergraduate students from May to August to deliver our STEM workshops/camps programming.  The following student positions are currently available:  

Student Summer Leader

As a student summer leader, you will present Science and Coding workshops at schools in our region and work at our various X-Chem Science and Coding camps. We welcome students from all branches of science. A description of our program can be found at X-Chem Outreach.

Positions are 40hrs per week @ $14.50/hr and range from 8-16 weeks in length.

Previous work with youth is an asset. Having a car is beneficial for being able to get to workshops and camps off-campus. If you have a car, please mention that in your cover letter. 

Indigenous Community Coordinator

As an indigenous community coordinator, you will: 

• Work with fellow X-Chem Outreach team members to develop in-person, online, and remote workshop/camp activities that are culturally relevant, educational, and engaging for First Nations youth. 
• Help organize and schedule workshops/camps with local First Nations communities. 
• Help deliver workshops and camps.

The position is for 20hrs per week @ $14.50/hr and is 16 weeks in length.

A background in science or previous experience with STEM is not required. Previous work with youth is an asset.
