The Xaverian Welcome Ceremony on the eve of the 1st day of classes at StFX marks the very first steps of a Xaverian. On the eve of your first day of classes, 1st-year students slip into black academic regalia for the first time, joining their new community and pledging a shared commitment to academic, personal, and spiritual excellence.

This isn't just an orientation event. It’s the official kickoff to the best years of your life and the first half of a lifelong StFX tradition. From this first pledge all the way to X-Ring and Convocation, your Xaverian legacy begins the moment you step into the room.

• Time: 7:00 PM Processional Line-up on StFX Stadium Track ~ 7:30 PM Ceremony

• Attire: Academic Gowns (Gown pick-up details are with the Res. Life Teams)

What to expect

• The Gowning Tradition: Experience the pride of wearing your StFX academic gown for the very first time alongside your entire incoming class.
• The Xaverian Pledge: Formally join a supportive, passionate global community by committing excellence in all areas of student life.
