The Dr. Trudy Eagan Women in Business Awards recognize two fourth-year women BBA students who demonstrate determination and perseverance, and who have made a positive impact on their classmates and program.

Lorynn Crawford of Mount Herbert, PEI, is completing a BBA in entrepreneurship with an honours BSc in human nutrition. She describes success in business as having the perseverance to step forward, the adaptability to overcome challenges, and the leadership to bring others with you. At StFX, she has had progressive roles in Enactus as a general member to vice-president of competitions to now co-president. In addition, she has been involved on campus and in the community as a senior resident advisor and volunteer with Kevin’s Corner, the RK MacDonald Nursing Homem and Relay for Life. Her career goal is to become a physician who will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to solutions that optimise health care and improve patient experience.

Ashley Reppert of Spruce Grove, AB, is completing a BBA in management and leadership with a sports management minor. She is described as an “includer” who builds her leadership around creating space for people to be heard, to get involved, to try something new, and to belong. She has taken on progressive roles over her four years at StFX in the Schwartz Women in Business Society, starting as events director, then community relations lead, to now serving as society president. She has also been involved in intramurals on campus (assistant student director to special events coordinator) and has participated in an immersion service learning trip to Peru. She has been appointed as the PRME Regional Leader for North America and engaged as brand Ambassador for Nexos Comunitarios of Peru.
