A legacy of compassion and innovation

This year, 2026, marks a remarkable milestone: the 100th anniversary of the Rankin School of Nursing. For a century, StFX nurses have led with compassion, integrity, and excellence across Canada and beyond. As we prepare to celebrate during our reunion weekend in July, we also look ahead to the next 100 years of nursing education at StFX.

To honour this legacy, we are launching the 100 for 100 initiative - a collective fundraising effort to strengthen the future of the Rankin School of Nursing. Tom Rankin, whom the Rankin School of Nursing is named after, has generously committed to matching up to $100,000 of our donations – doubling our impact. If 100 individuals or groups each give $1,000, we will reach our goal of $100,000. Gifts can be made individually, as a class or group. Donations can be a one-time gift, or through a pledge spread out over time. Any contribution makes a meaningful difference.

Donations can be made through the link above or by contacting Cathy Fraser, Development Officer, at 1-877-367-7839. All donation amounts are gratefully appreciated. Together, we can strengthen the future of our profession. Thank you for your continued support and for the impact you make every day as StFX nurses. Warm regards, Amy Hallaran, PhD, RN Associate Dean of Nursing, Rankin School of Nursing, St. Francis Xavier University
