The Office of the Dean of Education supports the Departments of Adult Education, Teacher Education and Curriculum & Leadership. Within these Departments, we offer a variety of programs including BEd (part time & full time), certificates, Master of Adult Education, Master of Education and PhD in Education.

Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the StFX Faculty of Education. 

Whether you are a current student or are considering furthering your education, thank you for your interest in our academic programs.

At the undergraduate level, we offer an on-campus Bachelor of Education degree program that spans two years. This program is intense, enriching, stimulating, empowering, and transformative and will lead to graduates receiving a provincial teaching license. In addition, off-campus BEd cohorts also constitute part of our offerings. We also offer certificate programs in areas such as mathematics and outdoor education. At the graduate level, our Master of Education degree can be completed in Administration and Policy or Curriculum and leadership. This program has several specialized cohorts that focus on areas such as leadership and/or pedagogy. The Master of Adult Education is another very popular graduate program that appeals to working professionals. This program also boasts a highly subscribed health concentration with health equity and social justice as key cornerstones. In concert with provincial partners, StFX also participates in a joint doctoral degree program where students can develop and refine their research skills while expanding their knowledge base.
