Regan graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University in 2023 from the accelerated stream with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her nursing career began in a rural hospital on a medical unit, then transitioned to the emergency department. Nursing in a rural facility highlighted the gaps in care experienced by people who live rurally and provided a lot of opportunity for leadership early on. Prior to pursuing nursing, she completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2020, then worked in a shelter for those experiencing homelessness, sparking her desire to work on the frontlines of health care and effect change. Originally planning to pursue either academia or medicine, her role as a Clinical Nurse Educator with the Rankin School of Nursing brings the best of both worlds to allow Regan to educate the next generation of nurses in the clinical setting.
