Grace Reid recently joined the Schwartz School of Business as LTA, Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) whose legacy designation is Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Assistant Professor Grace Reid is the recipient of Charles MacFadden Team Achievement Award issued for academic recognition for exceptional performance. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree issued by Saint Mary’s University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), demonstrating her personal values for life-long learning and continual professional development.

Assistant Professor Grace Reid has several years of experience teaching post-secondary courses at Cape Breton University, Saint Mary’s University and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Her teaching experience includes delivery and development of teaching resources for undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and college diploma business programs. Her broad teaching experience includes curriculum development, experiential learning, capstone projects research and supervision.

Assistant Professor Grace Reid’s research interests are in Sustainability Accounting especially Climate related Financial Disclosures (CRFD) that communicate climate risks and opportunities to stakeholders. Her research interests align with evolving expectations within the CPA professional designation and recent CPA competency map updates that have added Sustainability Accounting to the program requirements.

Assistant Professor Grace Reid is dedicated to applying her professional expertise to support the community. She serves as a board member and treasurer for Springtide Democracy, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) which advocates for democratic processes and supports inclusive, accountable, and collaborative leadership. She also volunteers with the Canada Revenue Agency to assist community members.
