The StFX Music Department's Visiting Artist Series is back for another year of live Jazz performances. The first of the series features world-renowned, award-winning UK vocalist Norma Winstone in concert with members of the StFX Music Faculty.

In a career spanning over 50 years, Norma has recorded many albums under her own name, most notably on the ECM label; been a founding member of the jazz supergroup Azimuth, and has collaborated with a very long list of contemporary musicians from around the globe.

“state-of-the-art, imaginative, virtually beyond-definition singing” (LA Times)

Her contributions to music have led her to numerous awards and recognitions, including receiving the Most Honourable Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II in 2007, Best Vocalist from the BBC Jazz Awards, Prix du Jazz Vocal (France), Skoda Jazz Ahead Award (Germany), British Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Vocalist, Jazz FM Award for Vocalist of the Year, and many more.
