Join us for a conversation with the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, as she discusses her new book, Unreliable Boyfriend: An Insider’s View of Dealing with a Chaotic Superpower, Plutocrats, and Other Complicated People.

Drawing on her years as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Freeland offers a candid look at navigating the international stage. The title comes from her quip comparing the United States to an “unreliable boyfriend.” The book explores how democracies and traditional allies can manage rising tariffs, shifting alliances, and an unpredictable superpower.

This event is open to the StFX campus and the Antigonish community.
