Baran Karsak
Baran Karsak is a cultural sociologist with research interests at the intersection of environmental sociology, rural sociology, and the sociology of food and agriculture. Before joining StFX, Dr. Karsak was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Guelph, where he contributed to research on the role of farmer-led networks in promoting environmentally more sustainable approaches to farming in southern Ontario. His current research explores the political ecology of agriculture and the social dimensions of industrial contamination in Nova Scotia.
