The StFX Alumni Association is happy to present the Alumni Career Speaker Series. We are excited to invite students, faculty and staff to a special alumni speaker event: “From X-Ring to Iron Ring to In the Ring: The journey of an X Grad to Business Owner" 
Join us on March 3 at 6:00 PM in Room 215, Gerald Schwartz School of Business, at St. Francis Xavier University.
In this engaging and honest talk, Steve MacLellan, a StFX Engineering graduate, will share his journey from working in oilfields across North America to stepping into the unpredictable world of entrepreneurship back home on the East Coast.
Steve will reflect on the lessons he’s learned about:
  • Taking risks and building resilience
  • Understanding money and long-term thinking
  • Betting on yourself when the path isn’t clear
  • Redefining success beyond the “safe” route
 
His story challenges the idea that success comes from choosing the safest option. Instead, he explores what it means to intentionally design a better future - guided by wisdom, integrity, and kindness. Whether you already have a clear plan or are still exploring your options, this session offers valuable insight into career paths beyond graduation.
