Join the StFX Department of Music on a musical journey to captivating and unexpected places, as Canadian jazz guitarist and composer, Roddy Ellias, joins up with long-time friends and collaborators, Tom Easley (bass) and Mark Adam (drums). Roddy’s innovative guitar style melds classical, African, and Brazilian musical ideas within a deep tradition of jazz, gained through five decades of bringing his unique and compelling music to rapt audiences throughout the world.

Roddy has performed and/or recorded with many world-renowned performers, including Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler, the Montreal Symphony, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. His latest album, Moon Over Lake, has garnered rave reviews from a wide variety of fans. The renowned African guitarist Lionel Loueke describes it as “a beautiful solo album full of emotions and colors. I love Roddy’s compositions and his warm and rich tone. I wanted to listen to one tune to start with but ended up listening to the whole album. What a beautiful Journey…”

Saxophone legend Joel Frahm, has called Roddy “one of the finest guitarists on planet earth,” and for good reason!
