Biography

Ryanne Chisholm (she/ her) is the Practicum Coordinator of the Applied Forensic Psychology (AFP) program at St. Francis Xavier University (StFX, Antigonish, NS).  Prior to taking on this role at StFX, Ryanne spent the last 20 years as a professional theatre artist, working nationally and internationally as an actor and director. She holds a B.A. Honours in Psychology from StFX and a Master of Fine Arts from York University and has taught at both Dalhousie and York Universities as well as in the corporate world as a performance, voice & speech, and dialect coach.

Her focus on creating and producing new work has centred on theatre for community development and social change, with a lens mindful of elevating underrepresented voices within Nova Scotia. In addition to cultivating and supervising practicum placements across the AFP program, Ryanne also works with students to help develop their practical and professional skillset (ie. public speaking, personal statements, CV, mindfulness tools used for interviewing and professional environments). She is passionate about aligning her experience and education from across her professional career with the goals of the Applied Forensic Program.
