Dr. Ayanna Stephens is an educator with almost two decades of experience across elementary, secondary, and postsecondary education. Over the past five years, she has served as an Assistant Professor, following earlier teaching roles in both public and private institutions and the establishment of her own educational services company.
 

Dr. Stephens holds a BSc in Chemistry, a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration, a Master of Management with a concentration in Human Resources Management, and a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Commercial Studies. She is also a CPHR Candidate and a member of CPHR New Brunswick. Her research centres on entrepreneurial well-being, resilience, and the development of entrepreneurial knowledge and capabilities. She is particularly interested in how gender and gendered roles, including motherhood, shape these experiences among aspiring and practicing entrepreneurs. 

Dr. Stephens believes that experience is the greatest teacher; therefore, she incorporates experiential approaches into her classes, providing students opportunities to apply concepts, engage with real-world business challenges, and learn through active participation. When she is not teaching or conducting research, she enjoys life’s simple pleasures, like spending time with her husband and children.
