We strive to prepare graduates to meet the diverse challenges of dietetic practice that are made present in an ever-changing society and health care system. Understanding the impact of complex food production and distribution systems on health and wellness is increasingly considered in framing our academic program.  

Graduates of the Department of Human Nutrition are engaged in diverse and rewarding careers in many sectors, including but not limited to: 

  • Community and clinical nutrition 

  • Government and health policy 

  • Sports nutrition and health promotion 

  • Public & population health 

  • Education 

  • Food service management 

  • Food product development 

  • Food safety & health inspection 

  • Health administration 

  • Private practice & consultation services 

Graduates may also choose to pursue advanced study in human nutrition, food science, health promotion, adult education, business administration, health administration, epidemiology, medicine, and other health science professions.
