POSTPONED A series of lectures on the philosophy and practice of Yoga will be given by Dr. Namita Nimbalkar, Professor of Philosophy from the University of Mumbai, India. The theme of these talks is The Philosophy and Practice of Yoga – An Intercultural Dialogue on Wellness. POSTPONED until September
Topics will include: The Foundations of Yoga Philosophy, Yoga and Holistic Wellbeing, Ethics and Lifestyle in Yoga, Yoga and Ethical Living, and Yoga, Meditation, and Consciousness.
Dr. Nimbalkar is a leading scholar on Yoga Philosophy, Gandhian Philosophy, and Environmental Ethics. She is a graduate of Joshi-Bedekar College, Thane, and of the University of Mumbai. In addition to her teaching in Mumbai, she has served as a nominated member of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), Ministry of Education, India, and is on the Editorial Boards of several leading philosophical journals.
Dr Nimbalkar comes to Antigonish thanks to a Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute SSTSG Grant. She is the third Shastri-funded scholar to visit the Department of Philosophy and the Centre for Philosophy, Theology, and Cultural Traditions.
