Biography

Willow Samara Allen (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Master Department of Adult Education at St. Francis Xavier University in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. Dr. Allen is a critical educational scholar with an interdisciplinary orientation shaped by her background in Education (PhD, Simon Fraser University), Public Policy and Public Administration (MPPA, Concordia), and Political Science and East Asian Studies (BA, McGill). Dr. Allen also has experience working in program management, policy, and antiracist facilitation in Indigenous health. Her research centers on social inequity and change, settler colonial socialization and discretion in public sector work, critical adult learning and leadership, antiracism pedagogies and methodologies, the subject-making and complicities of white settler women, and multiracial families.
