Dr. Watt (she/her) is a Full Professor of Psychology and Manager of the Applied Forensic Psychology (AFP) program; Adjunct Professor at Dalhousie University (Halifax, NS), and Honourary Research Associate at the University of New Brunswick. As a registered clinical psychologist, Dr. Watt has provided professional services to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) for over 25 years, including forensic risk, specialized mental health, and complex case assessments. She was the recipient of StFX’s President’s Research Award in 2009, Outstanding Teaching Award in 2013, and Jules Léger Research Chair (2017-2019). In 2022, she was appointed to a federal panel overseeing the implementation of the Structured Intervention Units, which replaced administrative segregation in CSC in 2019.   In this lecture, Dr. Watt will discuss Canadian cases of serial murder.
