Jake MacDonald

The StFX English Department played a central role in my professional and personal development. It was more than the books and the poems (wonderful as they were); it was the unlocking of my intellectual curiosity. I am forever grateful for the nurturing faculty, whose mentoring and encouragement helped me view literature, and the world, through new eyes. Some of my professors became my lifelong friends. My English degree was the starting block of a winding and rewarding career path as an educator, journalist, and now as a communications professional.
