“We are purposeful stewards of our resources, considerate of our impact on the environment and our long-term resilience.” – StFX 2017 – 2022 Strategic Plan
StFX University is proud to be a strong champion of environmental sustainability. Over the past number of years, our students, staff, faculty and university administration have been working to reduce our collective carbon footprint – and we have impressive results to show for it
From 2008 to 2016, we reduced greenhouse gas emissions on campus by 21.8% -- a decrease of 5,746 Metric Tonnes of CO2! That's the equivalent of removing over 1,500 mid-sized cars from the road, every single year.
And we’re not done yet.
Now, we’re boosting our commitment to sustainability and pledging to continue reducing our environmental impact. But it’s not something we can do on our own.
Every member of the StFX community has a role in making our campus community a greener, more efficient and sustainable place to live, learn and work.
This web portal shows some of what we’re doing to move us closer to this goal. It also shows what we’re challenging our campus community to do, too. Read on to learn how we can work together to ensure our future is clean and green.
Let’s take simple steps for a greener X!
