StFX Giving Day: FAQs

What is student financial aid?

Student financial aid refers to programs and services that students can access in periods of financial difficulty.

At StFX, student financial aid includes things like need-based bursaries, scholarships, and initiatives such as the Student Food Resource Centre, which provides students with non-perishable food items and gift cards for use at local grocery stores.

Will all of my gift go towards student financial aid programs?

Yes. 100% of all funds gifted as part of the Our StFX – Their Legacy campaign will directly support student financial aid programs through StFX’s Xaverian Fund. There are no administration or marketing fees.

I don’t have much money to spare but want to show my support. What should I do?

Any amount counts! No gift is too modest to make an impact, especially when you consider the size of StFX’s broad alumni network. If every alumni gave even just $10 on November 28, we would raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for StFX students. It all adds up!

Are you making your first-ever gift to StFX? Or are you an alumna/alumnus who graduated since 2002? Thanks to contributions by our generous donors, your gifts on November 28 will be matched dollar for dollar! That means your $10 gift will have a $20 impact.

I want to make a gift. How do I do this?

On November 28, visit www.StFX.ca/OurStFX and you’ll be taken to our secure online portal where you can make a gift via credit card.

You can also call our toll-free line at 1-888-222-0227 to make a gift over the phone.

If you prefer to mail your gift, please write a cheque to StFX University with StFX Giving Day written in the memo line. Please date your cheque for November 28, 2017 and mail to:
