McKenna Scholar in Residence

The Frank McKenna Centre for Leadership supports St. Francis Xavier University’s longstanding commitment to social justice and social change by providing our students with resources and training for a form of leadership that is aimed at creating positive change. In order to bring additional expertise, fresh perspectives, and in order to create additional opportunities for students and faculty to connect with and learn from renowned scholars, each year the McKenna Centre offers two residencies to noted scholars whose work models innovative scholarship that is aimed at social change and that is committed to social justice.

Each year, the McKenna Centre awards Scholar in Residence positions to two outstanding candidates: one position for emerging scholars and one position for established scholars. Residencies are awarded by application and by invitation.

Scholars will receive office space at the McKenna Centre and stay at StFX for an intensive one-week residency. During this week, students, faculty, and community members will be able to engage in detail with the work of the Scholars in Residence through a variety of events and activities. SiR are also expected to be available to students through daily office hours.

The details of the position:

  • One-week intensive residency
