International Student Orientation Program

The StFX Office of Internationalization arranges an International Student Orientation program at the beginning of the fall and winter semesters. This program is meant to welcome and support new international students beginning their studies at StFX. The fall orientation typically takes place in the final week of August, while the winter orientation is scheduled during the first week January each year.

The International Student Arrival and Orientation program includes:

  • Airport welcome
  • Transportation to campus
  • Residence move-in
  • Campus and local tours
  • Introduction to International Student Society and fellow international students
  • Information sessions on living and learning at StFX including:
  • Health insurance and how to access health care in Nova Scotia
  • Adapting to the Canadian classroom
  • Supports and services at StFX
  • Housing information and life in the town of Antigonish
  • Immigration and working in Canada information

International students who have been accepted into a program of study, and have paid their confirmation fees, will be contacted by email with instructions on how to register online for international orientation.
