How can we send a message to a graduating student?

You can post a message to member(s) of our senior class by visiting our Class of 2021 Virtual Guestbook -

Why was Convocation postponed when it was virtual?

Convocation 2021 was planned to be a Live Virtual Event.  This meant we would have been streaming live from the Keating Centre with the 25 individuals who had formal ceremonial roles.  Given the announcement made by the Province of Nova Scotia on Tuesday, April 27th, virtual events can only have a maximum of five people coming together. This was simply too small a number to deliver the ceremony we had planned, even with significant portions being pre-recorded.

When will I receive my degree?

Degree parchments will be mailed out starting on Friday, May 7th, 2021.

How will I receive my degree?

Parchments will be sent to your home mailing address on file.  To verify your address, please visit Self-Service Banner.  If you need to update your address, please submit a request through Services@StFX by Monday, May 3rd.  Within Canada, parchments will be sent via Xpresspost.  Outside of Canada, parchments will sent via courier and will require a street address and phone number.

Can I pick up my parchment in-person?

No, unfortunately due to the record high number of COVID-19 cases in our province, in-person parchment pick up is not available due to NS Public Health and Safety guidelines. The Registrar’s Office is currently closed to the public and is unable to accommodate these requests.

When will my transcript reflect that I have graduated?

May 3rd, 2021

Why is my parchment dated as a conferral for May 2nd, 2021, when our Convocation is on May 7th

The formal conferral of degrees will take place on Sunday May 2nd reflecting your official graduation date.  Due to recent Provincial restrictions the ceremony being held to celebrate your graduation will take place Friday, May 7th.

With the new restrictions and postponement of convocation, just wondering if you know if we will be able to get our money back for the gown rentals?

You can cancel your gown reservation if you wish by logging into the online store or by emailing:

Will there be an opportunity for the grads that have rented gowns to pick them up?

Due to the Provincial restrictions put in place on April 27th, the StFX Store is closed to the public however, they are doing shipping.  You can visit where you will immediately see a shipping option to add shipping to your current regalia pickup.  Simply enter your local address and the original order number to receive special pricing of $5.00 local (plus tax). Local shipping is done via Canada Post.

I rented a gown to wear for Convocation and I am now returning home and the StFX Store is closed, what do I do with my gown so I do not get charged for it?

If you return your gown and hood to the StFX Campus Post Office by Friday, April 30th you will not be charged for it. A refund will be issued.  To do this, you will need to return it in a bag and please, include your name, student ID# and Order Number. We cannot issue a refund without these details.  The hours of the post office are currently set to 9am to 12 noon and 1pm to 4pm.

Where do I return my regalia when I done with it?

You will have until May 14th to return local regalia and until May 21st to return regalia shipped out of province.  If the STFX Store is open upon your return, then you will drop off there otherwise, you can return your gown and hood to the StFX Campus Post Office.  Regardless of the location at your time of drop-off, you will need to return it in a bag and please, include your name, student ID# and Order Number.
