StFX climate researchers presenting at European Geosciences Union meeting in Vienna

Dr. Hugo Beltrami, Canada Research Chair in Climate Dynamics at StFX, and several graduate students are currently presenting their research at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly, a large, important international meeting taking place in Vienna from April 17-22.

Three graduate students present at the conference are Etor Lucio-Eceiza (PhD - U. Complutense de Madrid), Almudena Garcia-Garcia (MSc -StFX), and Francisco Cuesta-Valero (MSc - StFX). Also involved in the research are Fernando Jaume-Santero and Carolyne Pickler.
 
“This is very good exposure for our work and a very good experience for the graduate students to meet the world's top climate scientists,” Dr. Beltrami says. The team will make eight presentations at the event this week.
 
“This is important to get to know as much as possible the latest developments in climate research,” he says.
 
Two of his masters students will be continuing on with Dr. Beltrami for a PhD in climate sciences in conjunction with Memorial University of Newfoundland.
