New math co-op program at StFX

July 26th, 2013

The StFX Co-op Education Program and the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science are excited to announce that beginning in September 2013, students who choose math as their primary major will be eligible to apply to the Co-op Education Program. Co-op education, a proven educational model, provides students with professional work integrated learning opportunities. It's a learning partnership between the student, the university, and the employer.

Co-op students have the opportunity to build their confidence, use their academic knowledge in the workplace, and gain a sense of what the world of work is like, says Co-op manager Jane MacDonald.

In 2013-2014, the StFX Co-op Education Program is also celebrating 10 years at StFX. The program is excited about having the opportunity to help math students discover their career interests through co-op education, she says.

Currently, co-op education is offered in the following programs, biology, business, computer science, human nutrition, information systems, and math.

Students enrolled in the above mentioned programs who are interested in learning more about the program should contact Co-op staff: Jane MacDonald or Trudy Delorey at
