Schwartz School business professor Dr. Mary Oxner has been honoured with the inaugural CFA Volunteer of the Year award, presented June 1 at the CFA Society Atlantic Canada’s 2017 Annual Forecast Dinner held in Halifax, NS.

Dr. Oxner, a CFA since 1994, has been a board member of the CFA Society Atlantic Canada Board and was the 2010 CFA Atlantic Forecaster of the Year. The award recognizes her work in the community to support vulnerable populations though organizations like the VON Community Corporation Antigonish and the Friendship Corner.

The volunteer award is named in honour of the late Terry Milne, who during her career worked at both Beacon Securities and the Bank of Montreal, both in Halifax, NS, and was a tireless volunteer in her profession and community. This award is to be presented annually to an individual for his/her extraordinary contributions as a volunteer either in his/her profession or community.
