Students honoured at annual human kinetics banquet

StFX’s annual Human Kinetics banquet was held on Friday, April 7, during which a number of students were honoured for their achievements.

On hand for the award presentations were StFX President Dr. Kent MacDonald, Academic Vice-President Dr. Kevin Wamsley, and Department of Human Kinetics Chair Dr. Jacques Boucher.

Award winners included:

Erin Brocklehurst, recipient of the Jeff Graham Memorial Award for friendship to a member of the senior class.

Eibhlin Storey, recipient of the C.S.E.P./S.C.P.E. Award (Canadian Society Exercise Physiology) presented to a graduating student who has achieved the highest academic standing in the B.Sc. human kinetics degree.

Alex Cyr, recipient of the H.K. Birks Award given to a graduating student who has achieved the highest academic standing in the BA human kinetics program.

Kelsey Fahie was honoured with the PHE Canada Award to a second or third year undergraduate student who has displayed outstanding leadership through his/her contribution to the Human Kinetics Society.

Kevyn Timmons received the Melissa Landry Memorial Award, presented to a human kinetics graduating student who has displayed outstanding volunteer contributions throughout their undergraduate degree at StFX.
