Fine art faculty member wins awards at Plein Air Art competitions

StFX fine art faculty member William Rogers recently returned from Maryland where he participated in three juried Plein Air Art competitions as one of a small group of selected artists. 

He won an award in two of these competitions, including second prize at Mountain Maryland Plein Air for "Earle's Tractors," and a 'Best use of Light Award' for "Annapolis Skyline" in the Paint Annapolis Plein Air. 
He was also one of 58 artists in 'Plein air Easton,' the largest U.S. Plein air Festival.
"Earle's Tractors" has also been selected for the Oil Painters of America Salon Show to be held at Castle Gallery Fine Art in Fort Wayne, IN from Sept. 30-Oct. 29, 2016.
