At the Xaverian Welcome, all new students are invited to commit themselves to a life of thought and service as they join the Xaverian community. This commitment is witnessed by the President, Dr. Kent MacDonald, along with senior administrators and faculty of the university, the President of the Students’ Union, Students’ Union executive and House Presidents.
This commitment is renewed at the two events that follow, as students achieve their goals, and participate in ceremonies that have become important institutional occasions in the life of StFX, namely, X-Ring and Convocation.
All new students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
This ceremony is open to everyone, people of all faiths and beliefs, or none at all.
Students pick up academic robes at 6:00 pm in the StFX Auditorium (located below the Chapel); arrive at 6:00 pm to allow sufficient time to be fitted for academic robes.
At 6:30 pm, the academic procession will form in the Auditorium and proceed to the StFX University Chapel.
