Jean Vanier is an internationally-known humanitarian, philosopher, and theologian. The son of former Governor General Georges Vanier, he founded L'Arche, a network of communities where those with disabilities could live their lives with dignity and respect. 

Dr. Michael W. Higgins is Distinguished Professor of Catholic Thought at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, and the author and co-author of many books including Jean Vanier: Logician of the Heart.  He writes regularly for The Globe and Mail, Commonweal (New York),  and The Tablet (London). 

This Lecture is sponsored by the Centre for Philosophy, Theology and Cultural Traditions, the Department of Philosophy, the Offices of the Vice-President Academic, the Associate Vice President (Research), the Dean of Arts, and the Program in Catholic Studies, St Francis Xavier University.

THe lecture will take place on Thursday, October 24, 7.30 pm in the Auditorium, Mulroney Hall (MULH 2070) at St FX University.
