Jean Vanier was an internationally-known humanitarian, philosopher, and theologian. The son of former Governor General Georges Vanier, he founded L'Arche, a network of communities where those with disabilities could live their lives with dignity and respect. 

Dr. Michael W. Higgins is Distinguished Professor of Catholic Thought at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, and the author and co-author of many books including Jean Vanier: Logician of the Heart.  He writes regularly for The Globe and Mail, Commonweal (New York),  and The Tablet (London).

Please join us for a Learning Lodge on Indigenous Justice with special guests Cheyla Rogers, Kashya Young and Tamara Cremo speaking to relations to land, legal injustices, and reconciliation and healing. Following the panel is the Antigonish Film Festival screening of We Will Stand Up - a powerful documentary about the injustices experienced in the Colton Bushie / Gerald Stanley case. After the screening will be an open opportunity for audience reflections and questions. Refreshments will be provided.

John Moriarty was an Irish writer and philosopher.

A native of County Kerry, he was educated at University College, Dublin. He taught English literature at the University of Manitoba, and in 1974, returned to England where he became a live-in gardener in the Carmelite monastery at Boars Hill, Oxford.

Moriarty lived at the foot of Mangerton Mountain in County Kerry until his death, in 2007.
