St. Francis Xavier University operates under a bi-cameral model of governance whereby the Board of Governors is responsible for management and control of the University whilst the Senate is responsible for academic policy and programs.
The responsibilities of the Board of Governors and Senate are set out in the St. Francis Xavier University Act with procedural matters being further elaborated in the University’s By-laws.
