Adult Education
StFX offers a Master of Adult Education (MAdEd) program with an optional specialization in Community Development. We are Canada's first self-directed master's program offered primarily through distance education.
Humanities Colloquium
Welcome to the Humanities Colloquium — a foundation year at StFX, where great minds don’t always think alike. The Latin word colloquium means “conversation.” In this program you will have many conversations about the most important ideas: conversations with great thinkers from the past, with professors, with students, and with invited speakers, both in the classroom and outside.
Sociology

Welcome to Sociology at StFX, where students are introduced to innovative methods of looking at the social world, human behavior and societies. Sociologists explore the way human interaction shapes our culture, and employ the ideas of leading social theorists for comprehensive answers.
Religious Studies

Welcome to Religious Studies at StFX, where students can analyze fundamental questions relating to the meaning of human existence. This is a program of study sure to interest students associated with a particular religious tradition, as well as those with no formal religious traditions.
Psychology

Welcome to Psychology at StFX, where students are introduced to innovative methods of looking at the human mind, human behavior, and the way we live. Psychologists probe our ‘psychological being’ to explore the impact of experiences that shape who we are.
Philosophy
Welcome to Philosophy at StFX, where students study the insights of Plato, Aristotle, Kant and others who have become synonymous with philosophical thought. But the study of Philosophy is not merely the study of great minds; rather, it embraces the idea that great minds offer the best guide to the truth concerning the most important questions of our time.
