Apartment Style Residence

Students in apartment or suite style residence are required to participate in a meal plan, declining balance, or a combination of the two with a value of $700 or greater.

Campus Food Services have designed plans to meet your needs.

Block & Traditional Plans

Both plan types give you access to Morrison Hall & include non taxable declining balance for use at the various StFX food outlets.

The following are the primary differences between the two meal plan types:

Traditional Meal Plans (10, 14, 17 meals per week)

Access to Meal Hall:
Once per meal period (Meal periods: breakfast, lunch dinner Monday to Friday. Brunch & Dinner Saturday & Sunday.)
Meal allotment:
Equivalent to 10, 14, 17 meals per week. Unused meals carry over from week to week, but expire at the end of the month.
Guest Passes:
Not included

Block Meal Plans (315, 415, 515 meals per year)

Access to Meal Hall:
Unlimited access per meal period
Meal allotment:
Meals are allotted per year. Unused meals expire at the end of the academic year.
Guest Passes:
Included

Meal Pass

  • 75 or 100 meals per year.
  • 50 meals + $250 taxable declining balance.
  • Take advantage of the all you care to eat service!
  • Access Morrison Hall as frequently as you choose.
  • Unused meals expire only at the end of the academic year.

Meals Plus

  • 5 meals per week for either the full academic term or the first term only (with the option of purchasing a Meals Plus plan for the second term).
  • Access any 5 meals per week at Morrison Hall.
  • The meal week runs from Saturday to Friday (inclusive) each week. Unused meals expire at Morrison Hall closing on each Friday.
  • Choose from plans available with or without taxable declining balance.

$700 Declining Balance

Students have the option of choosing taxable declining balance. This can be used at all of the StFX food outlets (including Morrison Hall, just pay the door price for access).

Declining balance associated with your residence meal plan commitment is non refundable & the unused portion expires at the end of the academic year.

You will have the option of choosing your meal plan at the time you accept your residence contract.

If a meal plan selection is not submitted by August 13 2010, you will be assigned $700 taxable declining balance to meet your meal plan commitment.

Students assigned to Governors Hall or an Apartment Style residence can choose from the following options

Students who purchase a 10, 14, 17 meals per week or a 315, 415, 515 block plan have the opportunity to purchase additional non taxable DCB.

  • This is available only at the point of plan purchase
  • Non taxable DCB is available in $50 increments
  • If you choose to purchase additional Non Taxable DCB, please indicate the quantity when you make your meal plan selection

Note: Morrison Hall meal periods are as follows

3 meal periods per week day (breakfast, lunch, dinner: Monday to Friday )
2 meal periods on the weekend (brunch & dinner: Saturday & Sunday)
