This year marks another milestone for the Class of 1980. Mark your calendar for Homecoming 2015, October 2nd – 4th, and join us in the celebration! It’s the perfect opportunity to return to campus for a weekend of fun and fellowship.
From the moment you pick up your name badge at Homecoming Registration (beginning Friday at 10 a.m. at the Charles V. Keating Centre), it’ll be a weekend to remember. Campus walking tours, starting Friday at 1 p.m. and running through the weekend, are a great way to reacquaint yourself. On Friday evening, join fellow alumni at the Welcome Home Dinner for the presentation of the Alumni Awards of Excellence. Should you choose not to go to the dinner, remember all roads lead to the Inn so feel free to gather there as well. From either the dinner or the Inn, we can gather later at Bloomfield Centre for the Homecoming Mix & Mingle.
Saturday morning starts early with the Homecoming 5K fun run at 8 a.m., and events continue throughout the day, including Coffee with Coady, the Hall of Honour Induction Ceremony, the Mount St. Bernard Tea, the Ceremonial Kick Off and Homecoming Football Game. Saturday evening our class will have a chance to gather together for a ‘casual yet chic’ dinner. Laughter, memories, and stories will flow throughout the day and into the evening. After dinner, we’ll keep the evening going by joining fellow alumni from other classes at Bloomfield for the Homecoming Pub Night.
On Sunday, we celebrate Homecoming Mass at the University Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by Homecoming Brunch at the Charles V. Keating Centre, a chance to share one last meal together and make plans to meet again!
Please register for Homecoming 2015 in advance through the StFX website, or by sending the enclosed registration form back to the Alumni Office. To register online, purchase your dinner tickets, get updates on class events and see who else is coming, please visit our class webpage at:
In order for the planning team to track who is attending, please register as soon as possible (preferably before June 1st).
Since this is our 35th reunion, we want to ensure we invite as many of our classmates as we can. Help us by contacting as many of your fellow graduates as possible and extending an invitation to them to come home for 35th. If you do get in touch with one of our classmates, please contact Alumni Affairs at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 902-867-2186 with any updated contact information. We need to keep the records of our class as up to date as possible prior to Homecoming and we need everyone’s help.
Please find enclosed the Homecoming schedule (full schedule details are also available at: www.stfx.ca/alumni/homecoming) and a list of local accommodations. Be sure to reserve your room early as Antigonish hotels book up quickly! If your hotel of choice is booked, you can ask to be put on a waiting list as rooms do become available during the summer months.
We look forward to seeing you at Homecoming … until then, Hail and Health!
