Congratulations to 2010 honours psychology graduate Joey Dignam of Miramichi, NB, who took top honours at the 34th Annual APICS Psychology Conference, hosted by StFX from May 5-6. Joey took the top honours for his talk entitled: Community responses to Breastfeeding: An Objective Study.
"I was quite surprised to receive this award, especially after seeing so many impressive presentations of groundbreaking research from the other Atlantic universities. That being said, I am quite proud to bring it back to the psychology department here at StFX, particularly from a conference hosted here at X,” he says.
“(Supervisor) Dr. Erin Austen and I are both quite proud of this project, and it's great to see that this breastfeeding research has been so well received."
Congratulations are also extended to the APICS organizing committee, Erin Austen and John McKenna for spearheading the conference with a committee of faculty and student volunteers.
The annual APICS Psychology Conference is a convergence of student researchers and faculty members from universities across Atlantic Canada. It is a great opportunity for students and universities to showcase research in the field of psychology and to meet others who share similar interests.
