    Environmental sciences grad impressive again; research chosen for second time as prestigious AGU journal highlight

    Andrew MacDougall has done it again.

    The 2008 environmental sciences graduate from Antigonish, NS who capped off his university career at StFX as the first author of a paper published in Geophysical Research Letters, essentially the highest ranking journal in the field, has once again had his work chosen as a Journal Highlight by the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

    Members of Marine Ecology Lab present at European symposium

    Two members of StFX's Marine Ecology Lab in the Department of Biology had the distinction recently of participating in the 45th European Marine Biology Symposium (www.sls.hw.ac.uk/EMBS2010), which took place in Edinburgh, Scotland from August 23-27, 2010.

    Contact East 2010 coming to StFX, Antigonish

    If the calibre of talent performing at the Kick-Off to Contact East 2010 press conference is any indication, audiences are in for a real treat when the annual Atlantic Canada performing arts trade show comes to StFX and Antigonish on Sept. 23-26. For over 25 years, the best performers from across Canada have gathered annually to present their talent to regional, national and international buyers at Contact East. This year’s event takes place in Antigonish at StFX next month.

    Kristin Roe, the StFX masters of adult education student who became the first Nova Scotian to successfully swim across the English Channel, will be welcomed back to Halifax by family, friends and supporters on the Halifax waterfront boardwalk, beside the Halifax Ferry Terminal on Friday, August, 6 2010 from 6:30-9:30 a.m.
