For most hockey players, young and old, the dream of hoisting the Stanley Cup is always in the back of their mind. X-Men hockey alumnus Allan MacIsaac got to live that dream recently, as a member of the senior management team with the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.

StFX master of adult education student Kristin Roe is busy preparing for one of the biggest challenges of her life. In July 2010, Roe will attempt a solo crossing of the English Channel to raise $100,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and the Nova Scotia Gambia Association.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Sean Riley will continue to lead StFX for the next five years,” the Hon. Frank McKenna, chair of StFX’s Board of Governors, said in making the announcement. "Since Dr. Riley has been at the helm, StFX has strengthened the quality of its academic programs and research, and completed an extensive campus renewal program. StFX continues to be recognized among the best universities in Canada, largely due to his unwavering commitment and leadership," added Mr. McKenna.

On June 7th at the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, the Coady International Institute announced the launch of an innovative national community leadership program for Indigenous women in Canada. Special guests speakers at the event included Governor General Michaëlle Jean and National Inuit Leader Mary Simon.
