St. Francis Xavier University is pleased to welcome nearly 1,000 new members to its alumni family when the Class of 2010 graduates in Spring Convocation ceremonies to be held at the Keating Centre on Sunday, May 2. The morning ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. while the afternoon convocation gets underway at 3 p.m.

On March 22nd, 2010, St. Francis Xavier University students made great strides in international relations when they had the opportunity to visit one of the world’s United Nations Agencies headquarters based in Nairobi, Kenya. 

Congratulations to 11 StFX senior students who have collectively won $191,100 in post-graduate scholarships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). A celebration luncheon to toast the students – seven of whom received NSERC PSG awards and four recipients of SSHRC awards – was held in the Coady International Institute on April 13.

Colleen Glenn, an honours economics students from the Heatherton, NS area, received a pleasant surprise recently when she learned she won the cost of her X-Ring for participating in the X-Ring Survey.

StFX’s Co-operative Education Program is pleased to announce that Ashley Lochead, a third year business student from Westville, NS, is the winner of this year’s Interview Idol contest.
