Career Options
Chemistry is a broad-based field that involves many other disciplines leading to countless career and graduate study options upon completion of the undergraduate degree. It can often be the foundation for further studies in top graduate and professional schools of medicine all over the world.
The First Year
The first year typically means taking Chemistry 100 or 120, introductory calculus and one other science of choice. Students evolve academically under the instruction of award-winning professors who work closely with them to help in achieving goals and create an exciting learning environment.
Degree Choices
Students can work toward an honours degree, advanced major at the B.Sc level a joint advanced major, or joint honours in biology, computer science, math, physics or earth sciences. StFX students often lead regional and national chemistry conferences, receive prestigious awards, and are published in major academic journals.
