Cultural Safety GatheringThe Aboriginal Heath Human Resource Initiative Steering Committee and the Aboriginal Student Advisor, StFX invite you to share in a day of Mi'kmaq cultural information and strategies for supporting Aboriginal students in a welcoming, culturally relevant learning environment. Morning session facilitated by Theresa Meuse, Bear River Mi’kmaq Nation; Cultural teacher and author. Theresa will speak to historical impacts and personal experiences that will help to identify student challenges and strategies for success. The afternoon session will include stories of Aboriginal student experience; creating a culturally welcoming learning environment and a panel discussion with Mi’kmaq Education community members. Run Against RacismThe run will start at the bloomfield center. We will have police cars escorting us through the town and we will follow our regular route.
