Zombies and Dante's InfernoDr. Kim Paffenroth, Iona College, will speak on "Zombies and Dante's Inferno." This presentation considers how contemporary zombie literature and films offer us insights into Dante's Inferno, by giving us a secularized, almost "demythologized" version of his ideas of sin and damnation. We'll look at the nature of sin, the relative weight of the various sins, and consider how modern versions of Dante's story can adapt his vision. |
