Priscilla 2010The best drag show of the year is coming again to STFX campus. For more details visit the Facebook page called Priscilla 2010, or contact xpride@stfx.ca. You heard it here first! Priscilla is back and bigger then ever! Priscilla is a yearly drag show put on by X-Pride, the LGBTQ and ally society at St. Francis Xavier University. Priscilla is an action packed show with entertainment from The Imperial Sovereign Court of Atlantic Nova Society Inc. (ISCANS), as well as many local performers. Half of the proceeds go towards ISCANs chosen charities, including the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia and Byrony House for Battered Women and Children, and the remaining half goes to the LGBTQ scholarship program at St.FX. Get your tickets early between February 3 and 12th at Bloomfield Center on campus. There will be door prizes! If you have a talent and would like to perform contact xpride@stfx.ca Tickets on sale February 3: Advance: $5 for students/low-wage and $7.00 non-students At the door $7 for students/low-wage and $10 non-students The show is February 12, 2010! The Royal Canadian Mounted Police offers meaningful work, vast opportunities, the chance to serve across Canada and a career like no other. Unique in the world, the RCMP is a federal, provincial and municipal policing body. We provide policing services to all Canadians, and community policing under contract across the country, except in Ontario and Quebec. You'll find us operating in over 750 detachments, including 200 municipalities and more than 600 Aboriginal communities. This session will review the recruitment process for the RCMP. Students in all years of study/programs are welcome to attend. This event was organized by the StFX Student Career Centre. |

CeltLangsInSongThe OTHER Celtic Languages – in Song! The Department of Celtic Studies, StFX will host a workshop conducted by Dr. Ken Nilsen on February 19, 2010 in Immaculata Rm. 201 at 3 pm. The workshop will present a number of songs in Breton, Welsh, Manx and Cornish. Yes, Manx and Cornish too! A little bit of background about each of these languages will be provided as well.
